In 2020, 2nd of June Students’ XXX (internal 60th) Online Conference of the Faculty of Agriculture: “Agriculture, Food Industry and Tourism in Pandemic Conditions” was held. There were two sections at the conference: Section I : Agronomy and the Business of Agro-engineering in Pandemic Conditions.Coordinator: Prof. Roza Lortkipanidze;Chair: IV-year student of the Bachelor’s program of “Agronomy”Lia Diakonidze. Section II: Tourism, Landscape Architecture and Food Industry in Pamdemic Conditions. Coordinator: Assoc. prof. Izolda Khasaia. Chair: Master’s student of the program of Tourism Badri Siradze.
The process of online conference was managed mainly by assoc. ptofessors Nino Avalishvili and Iza Ochkhikidze and the academic staff of the faculty.
Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture,Prof. Ketevan Kintsurashvili opened the conference and gave a welcoming speech. Students were also greeted by the rector of AkakiTsereteli State University, prof. Roland Kopaliani, head of the study processmanagement, prof. ImerBasiladze, head of the quality Assurance Office of the Faculty of Agriculture, Assoc. prof. MarietaTabagari and the scientific coordinator of the conference, prof. RozaLortkipanidze.
Former rector of the Institute of SubtropicalAgriculture, vice-president of the Academy of Agirculture, laureate of government’s prize, professor Napoleon Karkashadze greeted and welcomed the participants of the online conference.
40 scientific papers were presented at the conference. Topics were quite diverse. Among participants were the students from Minor program and the students from the faculties of Business, Law,Social Sciences, Exact and Natural Sciences. A student was involved in the conference from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University.
Conference proceeded and completed with great success. Students’ works were of high quality and mainly focused the development of the country. Despite online form of performancethe conference was acknowledged as one of the most memorable and interesting events in the history of the Faculty of Agriculture.
