The Department of Business Administration was established on the basis of the Chair of "Economics" in 2011. In 1992, the faculty had the first student intake to the specialty of "Finances and Credit", the academic provision of which was carried out by the Chair of "Finances and Credit", and since 1994 – to the specialty of “Accounting and Taxation”, which has been academically supported by the Chair of “Accounting, Analysis and Control". In parallel, since 1995 student intake has been announced to the specialties of management and marketing directions, the academic provision of which was provided by corresponding chairs. The Department of Business Administration is the largest academic and scientific structural unit of the faculty, which includes "Finance, Banking and Insurance"; "Accounting, Analysis and Audit"; "Management and Marketing" and "Agribusiness Management" directions. It is academically assisting all three level education programs of higher education as well as the minor programs of 3"Business Administration" and "Agribusiness Management".
Head of the Department is Associate Professor Goderdzi Shanidze.
