On February 21, Grigol Robakidze University hosted the presentation of the book "Child Rights-Historical Evolution" by Ghassan Khalili, Honorary Doctor of Akaki Tsereteli State University, Head of UNICEF Georgia.
The book was translated at the Akaki Tsereteli State University Child Rights Center. The presentation was attended by:
Sopho Kiladze, member of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child.
Dr. Ghasan Khalili, UNICEF Representative in Georgia, author of the book.
Mikheil Sarjveladze - Chairman of the Committee on Human Rights and Civil Integration of the Parliament of Georgia;
Nino Tsilosani - Chairman of the Committee on Agrarian Issues of the Parliament of Georgia;
Nino Tsereteli - Head of the Higher Education Development Department of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia.
Roland Kopaliani - Professor, Rector of Akaki Tsereteli State University.
Mamuka Tavkhelidze - Professor, Rector of Grigol Robakidze University;
Mamuli Buchukhishvili - Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Pedagogy of Akaki Tsereteli State University.
Local and foreign speakers emphasized the special role of Akaki Tsereteli State University in translating and publishing the book at the presentation. Translating the book and publishing it in Georgian will help raise awareness of child rights issues. The textbook is also essential for higher, public and preschool institutions: lecturers, teachers, students and pupils.
