MECHANICS AND MECHANICAL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

The mechanics and  mechanical engineering department was established in 2012 through the merger of the department of mechanics and mechanical Engineering, quality Management, Metrology and Standardization Department.
The Department of applied mechanics and engineering  graphics was founded in 1974 based on the theoretical geometry and engineering schedule, vehicle components and machine mechanics theory, theoretical mechanics and materials capacities. At these faculties, various eminent academics and teachers worked there, including the professors Konstantine Imedashvili; Murman Tkeshelashvili; Meleri Gachechiladze; Guram Valishvili; Nodar Narsia; Revaz Jinjikhadze; Vakhtang Khuchua; Konstantine Qobalava; Didimi Ebanoidze; Gulnara Kikabidze; Nana Chirikashvili; Nikoloz Gabadadze.Professor (Emrettis) continues to work on this direction. The mechanical engineering department was established mainly on the base of mechanical engineering technology in 1974, which was joined by the department of the food and machinery as well as food technology and  light industry and equipment department; Department of Material Science and Metallic Technology. At various times, the eminent scholars and teachers were the professors: Archil Kostava; Avtandil Tvalchrelidze; Ushangi Mikadze; Davit Purtseladze; Temur Bluashvili; Albert Davitadze; Eduard Kurdgelia; Yuri Yazikovi; Tariel Modebadze; Avtandil Maghradze; Gia Chijavadze; Avtandil Kistauri; Vakhtang Bregadze; Amiran Gelenidze; Simon Papidze
The Department of quality management, Metrology and Standardization department was founded in 1990 at the chair of the same name, whose promoter was Professor Carlo Mgaloblishvili, who continues to work as a merit professor (Emeritus). Outstanding Professors were working in this group: Tamaz Maghlakelidze; Anzor Khurtsilava; Kakha Maghlakelidze; Merab Kashia.
Structures of the department have been raised  up to 5,000 engineers, bachelor's and master's at different times; More than 100 scholars and academic doctors.
The scientific pedagogical personnel of the Department has been closely associated with scientific centers and universities abroad since the 70s of the last century. They participate in international scientific conferences and forums, abroad as well as in Georgia. They organize international scientific conferences and exhibitions at the site ,participate in studying, processing, reviewing and solving technical problems. On the basis of international agreements, the Department is conducting the purpose of preparation of the dissertators and magistrates in Kazakhstan,  Esenin Caspian "Engineering and Technology State University". On the basis of international agreements, the academic staff of the department periodically lectures at leading universities in foreign countries.
