Under an agreement with the University of L'Aquila (Italy), within the framework of the exchange program, first-year undergraduate students of the Faculty of Engineering have the opportunity to study for a one-year Master's program at the University of L'Aquila.The Italian side offers fully-funded scholarships. Last academic year, two students of the faculty successfully took advantage of this opportunity. In the 2021-2022 academic year, the faculty sent one student to study at the University of L'Aquila.
The Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Georgia, Mr. Petr Mikiska visited the Department of Energy and Telecommunications of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology of Akaki Tsereteli State University on November 21, 2021. Deputy Head of Mission Yana Gasparikova, Head of Development Cooperation Iana Zellingerova, Development and Cooperation Coordinator Lela Berdzuli, Economic Expert Irakli Svanidze participated in the meeting.
On October 11-14, 2021, the Department of Energy and Telecommunications organized an international workshop on "Professional Capacity Building in Hydropower". The workshop was part of a grant project funded by the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Professor Peter Novak of the Technical University of Prague attended the workshop. The participation of the representatives of Energo Pro Georgia and GNERC and the reports presented by them were especially important.
On November 20-24, 2021, a workshop on hydropower issues was held at the Czech Technical University for the academic staff and students of the Department of Energy and Telecommunications, Akaki Tsereteli State University, Faculty of Engineering. The participants of the workshop got acquainted with the educational and laboratory potential of the Czech Technical University.
On June 24-25, 2021, the International Scientific-Practical Conference "Innovative Processes and Technologies" was held at the Faculty of Engineering. The conference was funded by a grant from the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation. Papers from Georgian, CIS and Lithuanian universities and scientific research institutes were presented at the conference.
