On 25th of December, 2020 English Speaking Club had its last meeting of the year, where the club members gathered to celebrate Christmas. Akaki Tsereteli State University and English Philology Department are delighted to congratulate Professor Madonna Megrelishvili on being awarded an Honorary Diploma for Scientific Achievements in Philology by the Georgian Academy of Sciences on World Science Day established by UNESCO. This is a logical outcome of her successful academic career that includes more than 110 scholarly articles, books and conference papers, 27 PhD dissertations she has supervised, thousands of students who have passed through her hands, her outstanding dedication and leadership as Head of the University’s English Department for well over thirty years, her tireless work for the good of our city that has been a key factor in the success of Kutaisi Newport International Association. EPD is proud that Professor Megrelishvili’s outstanding contribution to the development of Georgian linguistics and her role in raising the standard of higher education in the field of philology has been acknowledged yet again.
